I am originally from Tulsa, but have called Tahlequah my home since 2003 when I came to play football for NSU. While I "grew up in the church" and claimed to know Jesus throughout my childhood, I was not truly born again (see John 3:1-21) until my junior year of high school. It is my great desire to help people see all of life through the lens of Jesus Christ - to love Him, to live intentionally with the goal of worshiping Him in all they do, and to advance His kingdom wherever God has called them. 

God has blessed me with my amazing wife, Keisha, and our three wonderful and energetic children: Emersyn, Keegan, and Blakeley.

Hello, my wife, Shawna, and I have attended Grace Baptist Church since 1998. In that time my family and I have been part of a loving church family that loves the truth of God's Word and loves the community of this church. We strive to see God glorified and for Him to be worshipped in Spirit and Truth. I am also the music minister and would love for you to come visit us! In Christ Alone!

My late wife, Teresa, and I came to Tahlequah in 1995 and began attending Grace Baptist Church soon after we arrived. We came to Grace because of the expositional teaching and the style of worship we found here. It has been my privilege to be part of the Pastor-Elder board during most of the years I have been at Grace. Teresa passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2020.

On July 13th of 2023 my wife, Susan, and I were married here at Grace. Susan has also been a long-time member here at GBC.

Jesus tells us in Matthew, Chapter 11 vs:28 "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest". Grace is a wonderful church to discover the rest Jesus was referring to in this verse.

To paraphrase John Newton:

I know two things. I am a great sinner, and Christ is a great Savior.

I am married to beautiful Becky, and we have three of our four children in our home. We have been attending GBC since we were married in 2000. I have served in various roles at Grace prior to becoming a pastor-elder.

"And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ." -Philippians 1:6

One of my favorite songs says, "If you could see what I once was then I know you would see... a miracle of love that took me in its sweet embrace and made me what I am today... a sinner saved by grace."

That song says so well what drives me in my role as Husband, Father, Grandfather, and servant of my LORD and Savior, Jesus Christ.

The Lord called me into ministering to youth many years ago. I have been here at GBC with my wife, Sharon, raising our 3 children since 1996. I am now serving as the Pastor of Youth, as well as seeking to train and disciple young men and women in the service of the Lord.

"Let us also lay down every weight and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the founder and perfector of our faith," - Hebrews 12:1-2a

I was born in Mexico City, the youngest of 11 children. I was blessed with a godly mother, who helped me understand my condition as a sinner. At the age of 7, I trusted in Christ as my Savior. I studied Computer Programming, then Bible & Theology through the Biblical Training Center for Pastors in Querétaro. While I was studying there and working as a bank teller, I started praying that God would show me how He wanted me to serve Him. That was when God called me to serve Him full-time. I met my wife Janine in 2004 because she came to serve as a missionary at the same church that I was serving at. We got married three years later, and God has blessed us with three boys: Isaac, Andrés, and Benjamin. 

I am humbled and excited to be serving as the Pastor of Iglesia Bautista Grace, reaching out with Grace Baptist Church to Spanish-speakers here in Tahlequah with the love and grace God extends to all of us through Jesus Christ. We meet on Sundays at 10:30 a.m., and we also have a Bible Study on the basics of the faith on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m.

Nací en la Ciudad de México y soy el menor de 11 hermanos. El Señor me bendijo con una madre piadosa, que me ayudó a entender mi condición como pecador. A la edad de 7 anos confié en Cristo como mi Salvador. Estudié una carrera técnica de Programador Analista y después Biblia y Teología a través del Centro de Capacitación Bíblica para Pastores en Queretaro. Mientras estudiaba allí y trabajaba en un banco, oraba que el Señor me mostrara cómo quería que le sirviera. Fue entonces cuando sentí el llamado de Dios para servirle de tiempo completo. Conocí a mi esposa Janine en 2004 cuando ella llegó para servir como misionera a la misma iglesia en la que yo servía. Nos casamos 3 años después y Dios nos ha bendecido con tres niños: Isaac, Andrés y Benjamín.

Ahora tengo el privilegio de servir como Pastor Hispano de la Iglesia Bautista Grace, emocionado de alcanzar a los hispano-hablantes en Tahlequah junto con Grace Baptist Church, con el amor y gracia que Dios nos extiende a todos a través de Jesucristo. Nos reunimos los Domingos a las 10:30 A.M., y tenemos un Estudio Bíblico sobre las bases de la fe, los Miércoles a las 6:30 P.M.
