Building Community on Mission
Our Purpose:
"To build deepening Christian relationships that will encourage one another
to growth in Christ and faithfulness for Christ."

(see Acts 2:42-47).

What to expect at a Community Group meeting:
Fellowship
This is the time for us to connect with others in a way that is not always possible during the Sunday morning service. This is usually built around a meal or other activity.
Word: Bible Study & Discussion
Our groups are not lecture-oriented. We study God's Word to find the main thought or ideas in that week's passage (what was the original meaning: the "THEM, THERE and THEN") and then begin to discuss the practical implications on our lives today (the "US, HERE and NOW").
Although many ministries have opted for small groups that meet for food, fellowship, and common interest,
we hold to the belief that it needs to be centered on God's revelation to us in His Word.
Fellowship naturally flows out of these times together.
Prayer
This is where the larger "church" finds greater intimacy and sharing. While gathering together for Sunday worship is a vital part of the Christian life, it doesn't always provide a setting that conducive for our people to share the difficulties they are facing.
Community Groups is the place where burdens, requests, and praises are shared and then prayed over. Some groups separate into a men's group and women's group for more intimate sharing during the prayer times.
This is also the time where we share specific ways God is calling us to live more missionally through sharing the Gospel with the lost around us, discipling and encouraging fellow Christians, and/or sharing the love of Christ with those in need through physical acts of service. Here we can encourage and exhort one another to love
and good deeds.
Service & Outreach
Our Community Groups are encouraged to serve one another in times of need. These are also places to do ministry together in serving the community through outreaches and other opportunities.
